Army crews are on their way from Melbourne and are due to arrive this afternoon.
10.25AM: Peeler Street has been reopened to traffic as police await army crews from Melbourne who are due to arrive in the afternoon.
It is believed the grenade will remain on-site.
The site has not been closed off by police at this stage.
10.04AM: Army units have been called to a Wodonga street after a grenade was believed to have been found on a construction site.
Police blocked off Peeler Street, in Whitebox Rise east of the WAVES Centre, early this morning and are now waiting for army crews to arrive.
The grenade is believed to have been found on the office site of AP Delaney & Co, whose earthmoving equipment is being used on community centre works nearby.
BRB Modular is also operating out of the site and the closest house is about 50m away, on the corner of Peeler and Sadlier Street.
Four police cars are on-scene.
