Berrigan has another chance to book a finals berth this week after a shock one-point loss to Mathoura last Saturday kept the race for fifth spot alive.
“It’s a very important game,” Russell said.
“That was the plan against Mathoura last week, but it backfired.
“We’ve been crucified by injury, though.
“We’ve still got a few to come back.”
Those returns from injury should start on Saturday.
The Mynard twins — Cam and Jack — are both likely to make their comeback from ankle troubles.
Key forward Ted Walliss (shoulder) is also on the verge of a return as the Saints look to break a five-match losing streak.
Justin Crawford (hamstring) is another still to come back.
“We’re expecting a tough game this week,” Russell said.
“Yarroweyah has the bye next week, so this is their last game for the season.
“You’d expect they’ll have a serious crack.”
