A man starts drinking at 6pm and has 13 to 14 schooners of heavy beer and then four pre-mixed rum drinks and at 12.15am is arrested after being asked to leave and abusing staff and police.
At what stage do you think that responsible service of alcohol guidelines should have kicked in and service be refused?
A schooner of full strength beer is equal to 1.6 standard drinks and the pre-mixed drinks are probably 1.5 standard drinks.
So this person has consumed approximately 27 to 28 standard drinks in six hours and was still being served?
Our officers shouldn’t have to deal with the aftermath of what is irresponsible service of alcohol.
