The English striker returned to the Border midway through the season only to suffer a knee injury that finished his year prematurely.
On Sunday Henry, who scored 30 goals for Diamonds when they won the league and cup double last year, was at Jelbart Park supporting his old club.
But now living in Benalla, Henry has agreed to take on the job at Rovers who failed to field a side in the Division 1 men this year, their reserve grade side finishing second last with just two wins and two draws.
