Bruce, just 19, upstaged an experienced field to claim the Riverina Championship Cup at Wagga Country Club last week.
The Thurgoona woman, who was the youngest competitor there, finished with a flurry to post a score of 258 over three days to edge out Deniliquin’s Gail O’Halloran and Wagga’s Di Brown by one shot.
Howlong’s Sue Eisenhauer was also not far behind in fourth.
"It was a bit of a surprise. I think I was just a bit more focused than usual and hit the ball better. Hopefully it (winning) will boost my confidence."

Bruce recorded scores of two rounds of 88 on the opening days before shooting home with a score of 82 on the final day of competition to snare the prize.
“It was a bit of a surprise,” Bruce confessed.
“I think I was just a bit more focused than usual and hit the ball better.
“Hopefully it (winning) will boost my confidence.”
The tournament, which has run since 1936, again attracted some the region’s best lady golfers.
The win caps off a terrific run for Bruce.
She won the Thurgoona Ladies Championship earlier this year.
