Packed gives an insight into travel, and is described by performer Lucas Stibbard as “semi stand-up comedy-slash-theatre with an audience”.
It’s taken three years for the show to progress from an idea to a fully fledged show, and is created by Brisbane-based outfit The Escapists with HotHouse.
HotHouse artistic director Jon Halpin said the group had last performed on the Border in 2011 with Boy Girl Wall.
“That was a really big success for HotHouse at the time,” he said.
“It brought a lot of new people to the theatre.
“It led to a lot of new subscriptions and breathed a lot of life into the company.”
Mr Halpin said he had loved the show so much, he wanted to work with the group again.
“It is in some ways a follow up to Boy Girl Wall,” he said.
“Anyone who saw that will understand the inventiveness of these guys.”
The show stars Stibbard, Neridah Waters and Tim Dashwood and features a mix of dialogue and animation.
Packed will run for 10 shows, with the final performance to be held on November 1.
