The David Street property was passed in at that price after it drew bids from three parties at an on-site auction on Saturday afternoon.
Two parcels of land were offered jointly by auctioneer Geoff Stean of Albury real estate firm Stean Nicholls.
The larger David Street block, with an area of 2125 square metres, housed the nursing home until early this year when it was demolished after its owners Japara Healthcare shifted to a new aged care centre on the former Hume golf course site in Logan Road, Glenroy.
The smaller neighbouring site is on nearby Winzer Lane and measures 582 square metres.
Bidding opened at $520,000 and continued in $20,000 jumps until $600,000.
From that point it rose in $10,000 amounts until $670,000.
It continued to $735,000 when it was passed in, despite the auction being stopped twice for consultations with the vendor’s representatives.
