ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons eloquently describes the blues as “a mighty long road ... a river, one that twists and turns and flows into a sea of limitless musical potential”.
That blues-tinged musical artery will flow into Wodonga’s Edwards Tavern all this weekend (November 22 and 23) as the second annual Wodonga Bluesfest hits full stride.
Among the top Australian blues artists travelling to the Border will be the man chosen to headline this major musical event, internationally acclaimed vocalist and guitarist Jeff Lang.
As they did last year, fans from far and wide will flock to Eddies to see enjoy the cream of Aussie blues talent, including Australian blues luminaries Lang, Phil Manning, Geoff Achison and The Soul Diggers, Fiona Boyes, Lloyd Spiegel and many more.
Go to edwardstavern.com.au/bluesfest for the latest Wodonga Bluesfest information.

ALBURY LIBRARY MUSEUM
- BEHIND THE LINES THE YEAR’S BEST POLITICAL CARTOONS 2013 (UNTIL DECEMBER 14): 2013 will be remembered as a year of challenges for Australia’s political leaders, drama for their constituents, and endless inspiration for the nation’s cartoonists. Behind the Lines 2013 tells the tale of broken parliamentary alliances, caucus instability, leadership spills, prime ministerial change, corruption scandals, cabinet reshuffles, policies and opinion polls. Enjoy this selection of works from Australia’s best political cartoonists, chosen from almost 900 submissions, as well as cartoons from the Museum of Australian Democracy’s own collection. This travelling exhibition from the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House is supported by the National Collecting Institutions Touring and Outreach Program, an Australian Government program aiming to improve access to the national collections for all Australians. Free entry.
Note: The Albury Library Museum's historical exhibitions are listed in the History section below.

CREATORS ARTSPACE
- PURSUING PASSIONS (UNTIL NOVEMBER 26): River Art School exhibition.
- EVETTE PEPPER LEDDIN (UNTIL NOVEMBER 26): River Art School exhibition.
- 9” BY 5” IMPRESSION EXHIBITION (UNTIL NOVEMBER 30): See small-scale paintings reminiscent of those exhibited in the famous early Australian Impressionist Exhibition that featured artists including Arthur Streeton and Tom Roberts. The works painted on cigar box lids. However, this Albury-Wodonga Artists Society (AWAS) exhibition will display varied styles and subjects that reflect the wide interests of the members of the society. Our poster is based on the original poster designed by artist Charles Conder for the 1889 exhibition. It features a woman entangled in binding, symbolic of the binding of conventions. The early Impressionists broke with traditional realist style, paving the way in Australia for all the Modernist styles we see in 20th century art and the amazing variety of styles we see hanging on contemporary gallery walls. Free entry. The Paintbox Gallery in is Gateway Village, Lincoln Causeway, Wodonga. Open 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Sunday 10am-4pm.
