Only weeks after Daniel Bradshaw returned to the Ovens and Murray club, Twitt will rejoin the Bulldogs after four seasons with Hume league club Holbrook.
Twitt, 35, said he was excited by the prospect of playing under Dean Harding.
“Wodonga is home and I’m good friends with ‘Hards’ so I’m really looking forward to it,” Twitt said yesterday.
“Hopefully I can get a kick and help some of the younger blokes along a bit.
“I have been training for a while and feel like I have a new lease of life after coaching for the past nine years.
“It’s exciting.”
Twitt was one of Wodonga’s finest players during his 180 matches for the Bulldogs with the star midfielder playing in the club’s 2004 premiership and winning best and fairest awards in 2009 and 2010.
He also played for Sturt and Wagga Tigers.
Twitt said he didn’t feel any pressure returning to Wodonga.
“I’m not expecting miracles,” he said.
“It’s really about trying to help out.
“I guess I have been tossing it up for a while and the timing just seems right now.”
Twitt, who coached Holbrook into grand finals in 2011 and 2013, said the hardest part of the decision was telling Holbrook coach and good friend Brett Doswell.
“I loved my time there,” Twitt said.
