I urge all would-be buyers during this period to look very critically at some of the advertising in your letter box.
Many of the prices shown are not special at all and, in fact, often are more expensive than the day-to-day price. They just quote a phoney “Save x per cent or dollar amount”.
These prices are fake and inflated to give you the impression of a good buy when they are anything but that.
This is shameful conduct by some of Australia’s famous companies — they must take us for mugs because most astute buyers would have browsed these companies catalogues before and can spot a dodgy “deal” a mile away.
There should be laws to force these stores to identify when the item was the price they claim.
Money is hard to come by and you want real value, not misleading advertising.
