NORTH Albury’s Jason Thomas and skip Stephen Broad won the Albury and District Bowling Association’s 45-and-under pairs championship at the weekend.

They had a runaway 33-6 win against Walla’s Tim Odewahn and Feargal o’Hearcain in the final, with the game called off after 17 ends.
Thomas and Broad won nine of the first 11 ends in the final to set up an unbeatable 22-3 lead.
They got five shots on the 14th end and four shots on the 17th and final end.
But Thomas and Broad had a much tougher assignment in a preliminary round match against a fellow North Albury team of Phil Jones and David Warford.
Broad’s team was leading 15-8 after nine ends, but the opposition got seven shots in the next two ends to get within two.
The score was 22-21 after 18 ends, but Thomas and Broad managed six shots on the next end to set up a matchwinning break.
They got another shot on the next end before conceding five on the last end, but still won 29-26.
Odewahn and o’Hear- cain won their semi-final 22-11 against another North Albury team of Matt Hamilton and Rodney Anderson.
In the other semi-final, Thomas and Broad won 30-10 against the Oaklands pairing of Jarrod Kerr and Matthew Richens.
