They say their community rewards program, which will operate in Albury-Wodonga from April 15, brings together businesses and community groups to create better deals for shoppers.
The manager of AdvantageCard, which will run the loyalty system, Ivan Schwartz, said the card was a good opportunity for residents to leverage their buying power and financially support the wellbeing of the Border community.
“This is our first deployment of the community rewards program, but we have been running other ones for 10 years,” Mr Schwartz said yesterday.
“It will enable businesses to tap into about 20,000 card-holders within six months.
“They can grow and develop relationships with existing customers.
“And they can tap into new customers and implement a carefully developed loyalty program.”
Participating businesses are asked to come up with special offers each month that are only available to card-holders in the program.
Customers who join the program receive key tags with a barcode or can access the rewards system on their phone.
Mr Schwartz said customers gained points with each purchase.
“You can earn points yourself as a card-holder and spend them with any of the participating businesses,” he said.
“Or you can donate them to a community group of your choice.
“We are hoping to sign up to 100 businesses by the time we launch.”
Information sessions for businesses will be held at the Albury Entertainment Centre on February 17.
Businesses will need to confirm their attendance at info@advantagecard.com.au by February 10.
