Despite dropping only one game through the season, coach Phil Brown was still wary of the Cannons.
“We need to focus on maintaining our strong defensive game, Castlemaine really challenged us the last time we played, and we’re at a point where we can’t afford to let anything slip,” Brown said.
“Some of our senior players really stood up for us when we last played, and we need to make sure we don’t rely on a few to get us over the line.
“We’ve spent some time on our defence at training, and on the night we have to focus on being accountable and quick to transition.”
The experience of Tenille Collins and Tahnee Cannon has been a real assest for the Lady Wolves this season, and have been pivotal to the development of younger players.
“Those more senior girls have shown that they can hold the side together when we’re being challenged,” Brown said.
“We need to come into this game with a strong team focus.
“If we go out there with some positivity and intensity in our defence, we have every chance of being in the grand final.”
