The event was sitting at 1959 entries a week prior, but that number almost doubled to 3507.
“We were blown away by the amount of people who registered,” committee member Michelle Hudson said.
“We were expecting about 1500 or 2000, given it is our first year and the fact Nail Can peaked at 1800.”
Ms Hudson said the feeling on the day had been positive.
“The feedback we have received is that people enjoyed the music and the atmosphere of the event,” she said.
“We hope we will be forgiven for any teething problems that occurred due to the larger than expected number of entrants in our first year, but we’ll certainly iron out the bugs for the 2016 event.
“Planning will soon begin on the 2016 City2City and we hope it will be bigger and better.”
The Run Walk raised $100,000, which will go to Albury Wodonga Health to improve cardiac services.
“We had some great support from businesses on the Border who sponsored the event, so 100 per cent of the registration fees could go to the cause,” Ms Hudson said.
The first man across the line in the 10-kilometre was Michael Hosking, while the first woman was Stacey Loccisano.
The event also had individuals and teams competing for five cups — schools, workplaces, community groups-sports groups, emergency services, and Albury-Wodonga Health departments.
