When the dust settled after a pile-up involving five cars on the Hume Freeway early yesterday, children in one of them were badly shaken and one car probably was a write-off.
No one was seriously injured.
The crash occurred in the far left, Sydney-bound lane, north of the Harold Mair Bridge, about 9am.
No speed restrictions were imposed in the two right-hand lanes because the crash happened in the lane running between East Street and Borella Road.
The cause of the crash was unknown.
