The device was detonated at the Wornes Drive property on Wednesday at 5.10pm after the Special Operations Group was called in from Melbourne.
Detective Sgt Graeme Simpfendorfer, of Wodonga police, said a man, 40, was continuing to help police with their inquiries.
“We certainly don’t believe there was any intended target or threat to any person or organisation,” Sgt Simpfendorfer said.
“A search was conducted and no other suspicious packages were found.”
Sgt Simpfendorfer said the investigation would try to determine the exact nature of the explosive device, which was destroyed when detonated.
“It’s not a counter-terrorist incident, there’s nothing related to that,” he said.
“We received intelligence that this device was there, it was found and we acted appropriately.”
Sgt Simpfendorfer said uniform police set up a cordon before calling the bomb unit, “who said it was a device they were definitely worried about”.
Properties in the immediate vicinity had been evacuated.
A tip-off about the device was phoned in to police about 1.20pm.
