With more than 250 horses balloted or made emergencies this week, Racing Victoria added the meeting.
Wodonga and District Turf Club sales and event manager Steven Keene said it was a great result for trainers and owners.
“We are happy for our trainers who have been crying out for racing in this area for the last couple of weeks,” he said.
“It’s great exposure for the club having a TAB meeting on a Saturday and a chance for punters to watch racing from our new deck.
“This meeting has been given to us to help accommodate horses in the North East so they can have a run.”
The great condition of the track and its low winter workload made Wodonga the ideal venue.
Previously, its next scheduled race meeting was the Jack Maher Classic on Sunday, July 26.
“The track is ready for racing,” Keene said.
“The extra meeting won’t be a worry for us.”
Gates open at 1.30pm. Entry is free.
