Circus Girl is the circus’s latest production, which premiered in Albury in October last year.
Marketing manager Jane Longhurst said the production generated tremendous interest from touring venues throughout the country.
“It’s a great opportunity for our members of the circus to tour and we hope it might go international next year,” she said.
Over the next three months the cast of eight girls will visit Gosford, Launceston, Sydney, Brisbane, Orange, Cairns, Warragul, Townsville, Hobart and Rockhampton.
The production is directed by Jodie Farrugia and was written by Andrea Lemon and circus members.
Artistic director Kim Walker said he came up with the vision after witnessing three young girls grow up over the years to the age of 18.
“I got to see first-hand everything they went through,” he said.
“So I thought it would be great to do a show about their journey through the circus.
“It journeys all the pitfalls and fabulousness of being in the circus.”
He said they were all proud of the production.
“It has something for everyone and we are very confident that as the Albury-Wodonga audiences loved it, so will audiences from Cairns to Hobart,” he said.
“We are trying to build up a repertoire of shows so they have a shelf life beyond the season.”
