Mr Wood, who leads the Real Estate Institute of NSW Albury division, said the NSW Government needed to “get with modern times” and reduce this tax.
“Stamp duty hasn’t been changed for that many years it’s not funny,” he said. “With the houses going up and up and up in price, it’s definitely a big burden on the first home buyer to save up that money, let alone their deposit.”
