To date, more than 4000 trees have been planted along Centaur Road, Pearsall and Mudge streets, with the remaining trees to be planted at sites cross central Albury, Thurgoona, Hamilton Valley and Lake Hume over coming weeks.
Mayor Kevin Mack said the winter tree planting program was one of the largest undertaken by council.
He said it reinforced the commitment to enhancing and protecting the city's biodiversity.
