Charlie Ciavarella has an immunodeficiency disorder that has only been recorded 10 times worldwide, and is due to undergo major surgery at the end of the month.
A fundraiser created to support of his parents Tony and Merryn is growing as they spend lengthy periods in Melbourne with their son as he undergoes treatment.
“There’s been an outstanding response from the whole community,” family friend Sally Rodgers said.
"That's come from individuals and businesses, people close to the family and complete strangers.
“It's already into the thousands of dollars.”
A fundraising auction will be held at the Oxley Shire Hall on August 14 and Ms Rodgers said it was important people continued to support the family during a trying time.
