While the blue and golds have established a buffer at the top of the table, Aggies have fallen off the pace and are now sixth in the top-tier Walsh and Blair Cup and a loss away from an end to their season.
Steamers coach Mick Raynes is understandably wary.
“It’s the get out stakes for Aggies,” he said.
“We believe they have the best and fittest pack in the competition but if they lose and Tumut wins they are out of contention.
“They won’t be resting players, they won’t be holding anything back.
“We believe they’re a real threat and that’s the message the leadership group has been pushing all week.
“These guys are going to upset someone this year and we don’t want that to be us on Saturday.”
Earlier this year the Steamers defeated Ag College 31-7 in Wagga in a game marred by a bad injury to Aggies prop Tom Dunstan.
