The find, which occurred on Thursday, was quickly followed by a raid on a home on Union Road in Lavington where about 60 grams of ice, 300 grams of cannabis, and cash were found.
Albury officers stopped 37-year-old Brian John Gill’s red Holden Commodore on the Borella Road off-ramp about 3pm Thursday.
Police spoke to Gill, who was the sole occupant of the car, before searching the vehicle and finding the drugs and pipe.
He was arrested and taken to Albury police station.
Officers searched a house on Union Road in Lavington a short time later and found methamphetamine, cannabis and cash.
A 35-year-old woman was arrested at the home and was taken to Albury police station and being charged with two counts of supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug, four counts of possessing a prohibited drug and dealing with the proceeds of crime.
The seized drugs will need to be forensically examined.
Gill, who was charged with supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug, appeared in Albury Local Court on Friday.
He wore a black T-shirt during the bail application and had several supporters in court.
He largely remained silent during Friday's legal proceedings.
The court heard the Lavington man was a truck owner-driver and relied on his business for his livelihood, but police opposed bail with fears he would continue to supply drugs to fund his own drug habit.
A police prosecutor argued Gill was a “serious offender” and a danger to the community.
He is likely to face a term in prison if found guilty, the prosecutor said.
He had his bail application denied and will reappear before court on Monday.
He asked a person sitting in the court to “bring the kids to me” as he was led out by police.
Albury Inspector David Cottee praised the work of police in finding the drugs.
“It was good work by the police,” he said.
“We will continue our focus on drugs, in particular methamphetamine.
“We urge people to continue to contact us via Crime Stoppers if they suspect people may be involved in the supply of drugs.”
Albury police have been running an ice reporting campaign in a bid to track down offenders.
