Holbrook Courthouse has held its first day of cases in almost a year after remedial work was carried out on the building. Thirty cases were listed on Wednesday it what was its first local court sitting day since August.

Flaking paint, possibly lead-based, is believed to have led to the decision to close the building. The NSW Department of Justice made the most of the closure by also carrying out some structural repairs. The job was supposed to have taken just six months to complete.
