ORGANISERS rated this year’s Ned Kelly Weekend in Beechworth among the best yet. Between 4000 and 5000 visitors attended the festival.

“We have a good committee, good local and national support and we try to keep changing the program to introduce a new element,” event coordinator Laura Murray said.
“Everyone has an opinion on Ned Kelly, and there’s always new research about him.”
Mrs Murray said the event benefited the entire community, with accommodation and restaurants recording strong trade.
