The Catholic College Wodonga student has been named the Victorian state champion for the Australian History Competition 2015.
She has sat the exam since 2013 and has only received credits in the past.
But this year she soared above other historical buffs and claimed a high distinction and the state’s top score.
The 16-year-old was one of 23,000 students who sat the test across the country in May.
She was able to identify where politicians sat in the House of Representatives and what public holidays were held in Australia.
She also recalled stories of historical Australian figures.
“I didn’t know what I had the ability to do,” she said.
