But it just got twice as big with another Anthony Baker joining the Phoenix as coach.
Baker, the club president, said the former Riverina mentor would be a huge acquisition at Urana Road Oval.
“It’s great to get him on board,” Baker said.
"We played together when I was in Wagga in the early 1990s and have stayed in touch ever since," Baker said.
"My nickname up there was 'Junior'.
"He moved down here through work last year so we snaffled him pretty quickly.”
New City has been competitive in recent years and is hoping an experienced coach will help the club take the next step.
It will start pre-season training at Urana Road Oval on August 30 from 10am.
