That’s what people can expect from the Applause Festival at QEII Square, which returns this year.
The festival is back on the calendar after it was cancelled last year due to art gallery works.
Co-ordinator Sandy Worrell said the festival would be bigger and better.
“We are excited to have it up and running and to be working with local businesses and performers,” she said.
Ms Worrell is creating a bit of suspense and intrigue around this year’s Applause Festival and said people should expect the unexpected.
“There is going to be a real twist on the great waiters race – it’s one of the first cabs off the rank at the festival,” she said.
“We are excited to have an old faithful event with a new look.”
Mr Spin and Pandora Pink are two street performers heading to Albury this year to entertain onlookers.
“They describe themselves as quirky, utterly stupid but nevertheless, brilliantly clever and sassy,” Ms Worrell said.
As well as performing individually, they also team up to create The Doogans.
Other performers at this year’s festival include Kiki Bittavabitsch, The Great Dave and the Flying Fruit Fly Circus graduates.
“Some of them have been touring Europe for the summer and will be back a fortnight before the Applause Festival,” Ms Worrell said.
“We have performers of international calibre right here on our door step.”
The Applause Festival will this year also open AMP Lane up for buskers.
“There will be flash mobs and different kinds of things happening in the lead up to the festival from August 30,” Ms Worrell said.
So far about 14 Border buskers have signed up for the festival and registrations will be open until the end of August.
“Everyone needs a starting place and everyone needs a stage,” Ms Worrell said.
“We are providing that in people’s home town and providing a platform for people to step out of their comfort zones and do something they love.
“You might start with Albury being your stage but eventually the world can be your stage.”
The Applause Festival, held by Albury Central, will be on be launched on September 30 before the festival kicks off on October 17 and anybody interested in busking can register by visiting www.applausefestival.com.
