This year more than 400,000 people are expected to join in the country’s biggest community and sustainability event, encouraging Australians to sell off their unwanted items instead of throwing them to the tip.
Archibald finalist Paul Ryan has teamed with Garage Sale Trail ambassador Barry Du Bois to create a recycled portrait that was unveiled at the Art Gallery of New South Wales on Wednesday.
Darryl Nichols, co-founder of Garage Sale Trail, said Ryan’s artwork showed the value of objects that were currently going to landfill.
