Wodonga Council CEO confirms long-awaited second report to be presented on overseas venture

Council chief executive Patience Harrington, who embarked on the excursion to South Korea with Cr Lisa Mahood, said she would be reporting on the social enterprise conference and its benefits for the city.

The briefing in September follows Ms Harrington giving a report in February, which was revealed by The Border Mail to be largely plagiarised.

Asked if Cr Mahood, who has made no public comment on the Seoul trip, would be part of the presentation next month, Ms Harrington was non-committal.

 "Wait and see, but certainly there will be the report on our trip to Seoul and what we've done," Ms Harrington said.

She said there were plans for company representatives to visit Wodonga and give "an understanding about how social enterprise can work here and then identify key leaders".

"From my perspective the report was done, there was a report on what we learned in Seoul,” Ms Harrington said.

"We followed up at two other council meetings with the social procurement we were working on and now come September we've got some quite significant workshops and stakeholders coming together to look at how we implement it."

Ms Harrington's looming report comes after Cr John Watson reported to council on a trip he took to Turkey in April to mark the centenary of the Anzac landing in World War I.

Cr Watson stressed his trip, with a stopover in Singapore, was privately bankrolled.

He gave a slide presentation, showcasing a series of sights he believed would be of interest to other councillors and citizens.

They included a range of artworks, among them moveable children's slides.

Practical issues noted included small digital screens on shop shelves, allowing prices to be changed below products, and traffic lights displaying how many seconds pedestrians have to cross the street.

Albury will receive countdown displays at some intersections, the NSW Government announced this week.
