League president Merv Wegener confirmed on Wednesday the case was closed following a probe by a mediator, who interviewed Murray and the field umpire accused of making a racially provocative comment towards the player.
"We've followed our vilification policy and the matter was investigated," Mr Wegener said.
"The investigation has been completed and the matter is now closed."
Mr Wegener said he couldn't comment on whether all parties were satisfied with the outcome.
The Murray Magpies were informed of the outcome on Wednesday morning.
Club president Ted Miller said the Magpies reluctantly accepted the outcome despite being prepared to see the matter dealt with at a tribunal.
Murray kicked 12 goals last round to move within two of a century of goals for the season.
"It is the process and the matter has been closed," Mr Miller said.
"We can't do much about it and as a club we've just got to accept it and move on.
"We've got a finals series to prepare for.
"We were prepared to fight it all the way to support Ash, but a decision been made and we have to accept it."
The umpire has repeatedly denied using the comment alleged by Murray during the July 25 encounter against Coreen-Daysdale-Hopefield-Buraja United.
A devastated Murray contacted his mother Kim Raudino after the match about what he thought was said in his direction.
AFL North-East Border umpire manager Mark Bywater said he was satisfied with the outcome.
"We are happy the matter has come to a conclusion and happy with the process that was followed."
Murray is poised to become the first Magpies player to kick 100 goals in the Hume league.
But the feat was achieved by Steve Hetherton when the Magpies rolled Jerliderie in the 2001 Coreen and District league grand final.
Hetherton booted eight goals in the premiership win to finish the season with 104 majors.
