Wodonga TAFE’s popular new course this year will again be offered at its McKoy Street campus in 2016.
Albury patissier Geoffrey Michael, who taught this term as part of the 12-month course, hosted a high tea for the public at TAFE on Tuesday to celebrate the students’ achievements.
“It’s been an awesome experience passing on some of my knowledge to these guys,” he said.
“I get a lot of satisfaction from seeing them create something special.”
Border chef April Vanliessum said patisseries had gained popularity in Australia recently.
“Since Geoffrey Michael came here he has educated the town about patisseries; he has so much knowledge and nothing was off limits to us,” she said.
The Wine Room chef Acacia Penney said the course broadened her skill set.
