Barnes was reported for engaging in rough conduct with North Albury’s Nick Holman, but was let off at the tribunal.
Fevola is hoping his Yarrawonga co-coach continues his attack on the footy in Sunday’s knockout semi-final with Wodonga Raiders.
“We were pretty confident he’d get off,” Fevola said.
“He’s got a pretty clean record.
“He plays on the edge and that’s the way we want him to play.
“To have our co-coach and gun player up and about come finals time is a huge boost.
“Our backs grow another leg when they’re around him.”
Fevola will play his second game back from a broken ankle.
He formed a potent partnership with Kayne Pettifer against North Albury last week, but Raiders are confident they can stop the star forwards.
“With Fev coming back in it gives them another avenue,” Raiders midfielder Matt McDonald said.
“But we are pretty confident we can cover them.”
