HMFD chairman Ross Edwards has been checking the weather forecast regularly and said the showers would settle the dust at the site to freshen it up ready for visitors.
“There’s money in mud, but we’ve had a great season so far,” he said.
Temperatures are expected to drop to 15 and 16 degrees from Tuesday to Thursday, with some cloud and light winds, but the sun should come out as well.
Mr Edwards said a few fine days would be ideal for the field days and hopes the spring rain would come back to make farmers happy.
“Last year we did have one wet day, but that brings confidence,” he said.
“Make sure that you’ve got your hat and your sunscreen, and I think it will be a great few days.”
