Basically telling me to get out of his road.
- Marcus Hargreaves
Hargreaves played 18 senior games and three in the under-18s this season in another consistent campaign.
The younger brother of 2014 Did Simpson medallist Connor, Hargreaves played mainly wing and half forward in the senior team.
Hargreaves paid credit to departing Yarrawonga co-coach Brendan Fevola for having a great influence on his career.
“He’s been a big role model to me and he’s taught me a lot about playing forward especially,” he said.
“And basically telling me to get out of his road.”
Hargreaves said playing with the likes of Fevola and Kayne Pettifer had been invaluable for his career.
The 18-year-old played in Sunday’s preliminary final loss to Lavington at the John Flower Oval.
And while disappointed to lose and miss out on a spot in the grand final against Albury, Hargreaves said Yarrawonga could be proud of its season.
