WODONGA’S development of its younger players has continued, with Maggie Young the winner of this year’s Rising Star award.

The Bulldogs junior turned heads in the A-Grade competition this year, providing a youthful edge alongside shooter Jane Cook.
The nineteen-year old goal defence said she had learned a lot since crossing to Wodonga from the Tallangatta league four years ago.
“Ovens and Murray is very different,” Young said.
“But it's good to have players like Rebecca Cameron and Jane Cook in the side, it gives us a good opportunity to work together.”
With a grand final against Yarrawonga looming on Sunday, the teenage defender was playing it cool ahead of the big match.
“It'll be exciting, finals are really different to other games,” she said.
“I think I'm starting to come good with my own form.
“It's always good to be able to do that before a final.”
