After relocating to the Border to take up a role as assistant coach with Yackandandah in the TDFL last year, Wright will take up the coaching job vacated by Mick Russell.
Russell will take over as captain from Ryan McNeil.
Wright, who has been a leading batsman in the Gisborne and District association, said he was looking to improve the club's performance across all grades.
“I was impressed when I arrived at the club,” Wright said.
“It’s very professional and they know how things work off the field.
“Obviously they haven't been able to put that together on the field, but we've been training hard for six week now and I'm confident we'll be able to make some inroads on the ladder.”
Wright joins bowling recruits Matt Jaensch (Nathalia) and Cam McCormack (Barnawartha-Chiltern) as new faces at the club, and said he was excited to see what the recruits would bring.
“Obviously I'm still fairly new to the area, but I can already tell the Jaensch will be a top line bowler,” he said.
“His stats speak for themselves.
“Cam McCormack will be a workhorse, he's been really impressive at training as well.”
Russell said Wright had his finger on the pulse.
“The plan is for long term success at Belvoir,” Russell said.
“Off the field our club has always been great, but we want some of that success to be reflected on the ladder as well.
“Dylan isn't looking to work exclusively with the A grade side, he's done a lot of work with the B and C grade boys as well.
“We're aiming to have three of our four sides playing finals this year.”
Russell said the addition of Jaensch would take some pressure off Brad Freake.
“We have a great spin bowling duo in Zac Simmonds and Ryan McNeil, but Brad has had to shoulder the majority of the fast bowling duties in previous seasons,” he said.
“Having Jaensch with us allows Brad to play more of an all-rounder's game, which he is probably better suited to.
“Cam (McCormack) will be really important for us in that regard as well.”
The seasons starts on October 10.
Belvoir meet New City at Kelly Park, St Patrick’s host Lavington, a young East Albury take on reigning premier Tallangatta and Wodonga Raiders face a tough assignment against North Albury.
