Construction of the park will begin next week, and the council will release concept images of the design through social media.
Council community well-being director Jaime Carroll said it would be exciting to show the plans.
“Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be releasing images of some of the exciting features that will be included in the splash park,” she said.
“Stay tuned to council’s social media accounts to get a preview of what will be the coolest place to play this summer.”
Images will be released in the next week-and-a-half followed by a picture of the overall design on October 8.
In other Wangaratta news, the second stage of an energy saving project has started.
Crews are changing mercury vapour street lights to energy efficient LED lights.
Almost 600 new lights have already been installed in the city, which will double over the next two weeks.
According to the council, the change will see a 75 per cent drop in energy use in Wangaratta.
The project has been funded by the Australian government.
