About 10 police cars sped to Table Top after reports the southbound car was carrying firearms on Wednesday.
A silver Daewoo with P-plates was pulled over in what police describe as a “high-risk vehicle stop” about 11.30am.
Police - possibly with guns drawn - demanded the three occupants slowly exit the vehicle one by one.

A 30-year-old man and two women aged 19 were handcuffed and police briefly searched the car and found several weapons.
The man is a person of interest in an incident where shots were fired into a Wagga home last Wednesday.
It’s believed a shotgun was recovered at Table Top, but police did not want to elaborate on the weapons seized.
At least two police cars from Wodonga had been urgently called to the scene but were turned around once Albury police had the matter under control.
Inspector Anthony Moodie said officers had received information before targeting the car.
“As it turned out, there were firearms in the car,” he said.
“That information made it quite high-risk for us.
“The vehicle was stopped.
“A number of (police) called on the occupants one by one to remove themselves from the vehicle, at which time they were arrested.”
The car was towed to Albury police station for inspection and to determine if there were any other weapons onboard.

“We’ve taken a number of guns that were clearly in sight,” Inspector Moodie said.
“We haven’t completely examined the vehicle.
“I would have to say that the police performed to their ability and to their training.
“It’s a good outcome for us and the people in the vehicle.”
Inspector Moodie did not provide details on those arrested or where they live, or say where the guns had come from.
“Right at this time I don’t have information regarding the guns, except that we have recovered some.”

The car was intercepted near the Ettamogah Rail Hub.
The left hand lane of the highway was closed as officers loaded the trio into police vehicles.
Charges were pending Wednesday afternoon.
