KYABRAM coach Justin Sherman says his side will have to play its best match of the season to beat Benalla in Sunday’s grand final at Deakin Reserve in Shepparton.

The Bombers have beaten the Saints both times this season, but will be rank outsiders in grand final betting.
Sportsbet.com.au has the Saints at $1.35, with Kyabram out at $3.15.
“We know we will have to be at our best,” Sherman said.
“Benalla’s a terrific side and we’ve got a lot of respect for them.
“Grand finals are a different kettle of fish.
“They’re pressure-cooker environments.
“The team that holds their nerves the best, keeps to their structures and takes their opportunities, usually win.”
Kyabram is aiming to win its second flag in three seasons, while Benalla is aiming to win its first since 1973, when it defeated North Albury in a thrilling Ovens and Murray grand final.
The Saints came agonisingly close to breaking the drought last year, when they kicked 5.15 in windy conditions to go down to Shepparton Swans in the grand final.
The Swans kicked just one point in the final quarter, yet still held on to victory by just three points, the club’s first premiership since 1970 when it was called Lemnos.
“We’ve got to go one better this year,” Benalla coach Luke Morgan said.
“We’ve been there before and we know what to expect now.
“Any experience is good experience and we’ve prepared better this year.”
Benalla was unbeaten heading into last year’s decider, but was forced to take the hard road this season after losing its semi-final to Kyabram by five points.
Benalla’s century goalkicker Josh Mellington was restricted to just one goal in that game.
But he bounced back with five in last week’s preliminary final win over Rochester.
Former Brisbane and Western Bulldogs midfielder Sherman is likely to give Josh Vick first crack at Mellington.
“It’s exciting and what you play footy for,” Sherman said.
Benalla faces Echuca in the thirds and is aiming for back-to-back premierships.
