Hosted by AlburyWodonga Adult Riding Club, about 80 riders from Victoria and NSW turned out in balmy spring conditions for the September 13 event held at Albury-Wodonga Equestrian Centre.
The local contingent dominated with five of the six dressage jackpots claimed by adult riders from this region.
In the small advanced field, Chiltern’s Tina Anderson claimed the championship with CP Latte ahead of Albury’s Megan McEachern on Beltana Grace.
Level 1 saw a slightly larger field as Table Top rider Andrea Williams won the jackpot on her homebred mount Arandth Von Edward.
In level 2, AWARC member Chantelle Mathews took the honours on AB Fabulous ahead of fellow club member Paula Harrington on Blanco Park Winslow.
Amber Windle, from Wagga, bucked the trend when she paired with Byalee Bronze to take out the level 3 dressage jackpot against a strong 20-horse field.
It was back in the hands of the locals again at the lower levels with Gerogery’s Sarah Donney and Wingara Jack Jones taking out the level 4 championship.
Reserve went to AWARC’s Jackie Drum on Jazdan De Marco.
In level 5, AWARC member Rachael Notorianni won the dressage jackpot on Rivendell Jabari after a convincing win in both tests.
Across the road at the cowhorse arena, the dust was flying in the showjumping arena as a smaller field took on the combined training component of the competition.
AWARC’s Lucy Elliot and Kalli took out the CT event in level 5 while Gerogery rider Michelle Libreri and her new mount Jabbawoki won level 4.
Alpine Adult Riding Club member Annette Thomson and Leroy enjoyed a convincing level 3 win with no penalties in the jumping.
Popular eventer and showjumping coach Tracey Savage teamed with Boots n All to secure the level 2CT win.
The field tapered off significantly for the higher levels with no advanced class for the CT and in level 1.
Eventer Danielle Cleland took out both the championship and reserve placings on Sourcerers Apprentice and Gunpoint.
