Eight out of 10 students from St Paul’s College placed in the parading classes, with Ryan Ballentine, of Brocklesby, winning his section parading a home bred angus steer.
Three other students, Lucy Kell, of Tumbarumba, Amelia Ghiggioli, Cassilis, and Cooma’s Sarah Nesbitt gained second placings.
St Paul’s College agriculture teacher Wayne Whale said Ryan did well in a competitive field.
"I was very impressed with just the quiet and steady manner and the attention to his animal all the time," Mr Whale said.
A pure limousin steer prepared at St Paul’s, Limoges Kanga, won the heavy domestic steer class in the live judging and then received the reserve champion steer ribbon.
Born August 27, 2014, Limoges Kanga weighed in at 504kg with an eye muscle area of 95sq cm.
Four of the five other steers prepared at St Paul’s also placed in their respective classes.
