The blaze on Melrose Drive was allegedly deliberately lit. A 19-year-old man has since been arrested.
Flames took hold in a hallway inside the residence at 2.45pm causing fire and smoke damage to the inside of the house.
Wodonga detectives charged the man with arson and he is due to face Wodonga Magistrates Court at a later date.
