Ruckman Ben McEvoy said Duryea was one of the club’s best in the finals.
Duryea capped off his best season at the club by winning a second premiership at the weekend.
“He’s got exceptional work rate and he’s hard and tough, there’s no doubt about that,” McEvoy said.
“His finals series was exceptional.
“I couldn’t be more pleased for him, he was super for us.”
Duryea came on as a substitute in the 2014 grand final win over Sydney, but was a key member of the win over West Coast.
Stats don’t tell the full story, but the small defender had 26 disposals, eight marks, six contested possessions and three inside-50s.
“Last year I was the sub and I was thankful to get that role, and this year obviously to play in the starting 21 was another step above,” Duryea said after the game.
