School friends, families and strangers came together for the candlelight vigil on Tuesday evening to show support for the 11-year-old’s family and to grieve together.
It had been two days since Zoe Buttigieg was found dead in her home.
Eight year old Zoe Lyons wore a rainbow band around her arm with the words “Zoe B” as she lit a candle for her school mate.
It was a tribute from one child to another, to replace the more traditional black armbands worn after a death.
“It’s to remember Zoe,” she told The Border Mail.
