Cavanough’s five-year-old bay gelding, The Monstar, will jump from barrier 16 in the $150,000 MSS Security Sprint over 1200-metres.
The winner of race No.9 receives $90,000 in the listed handicap.
But it won’t be easy for The Monstar, which is paying $11 for the win with TAB’s fixed odds and $3.50 for a place.
The Lee and Anthony Freeman-trained Kuro is favourite at $3.80, followed by Griante at $5.50.
Leading co-trainers David Hayes and Tom Dabernig have three runners – Gregers, Afleet Esprit and Pago Rock.
Cavanough will also have runners at Albury.
Jess Eaton will ride Alice from Albury in race No.2, a Benchmark 50 Handicap over 1600 metres.
Cavanough’s also got Nudgerama in race No.3, Desert Destiny in race No.4 and Copen Park in the final race.
