The Albury teenager at first considered contacting the police, then changed her mind and began shopping.
She now faces sentencing on three charges.
These are two counts of dishonestly obtaining property by deception and one of larceny.
Lowe, 18, of Tara Avenue, was scheduled to appear in Albury Local Court on Tuesday to answer the charges.
A court officer stood outside the court room late morning and called Lowe’s name three times, but she was nowhere in the court precinct.
With that, magistrate Tony Murray asked prosecutor Sergeant Shannon Lewis to hand up the police facts on the case.
These revealed the victim had used her Commonwealth Bank debit MasterCard at the Albury Bunnings store on August 8 at 1pm.
About 7pm she went to buy some groceries.
But then she realised her card was missing.
She tried to withdraw some money from her bank account, only to find it had insufficient funds.
Police said the victim then checked her account and found her card had been used elsewhere.
The woman called her bank and cancelled the card, then made further inquiries.
These revealed two purchases had been made using the card earlier that day; one at 2.06pm, the other at 2.17pm.
Both were made via an online shopping website known as Peppermayo.
The victim then contacted Peppermayo, which was able to provide her with two tax invoices for items that were to be shipped to Lowe.
These revealed that Lowe had bought a dress and a top, the order including postage totalling $118.90.
Police tried to ring Lowe on her mobile phone on August 15, but she hung up when told who it was on the other end of the line.
Police made further attempts to try to get hold of Lowe, with no success, so left a message for her to get in contact.
Lowe made full admissions to her crimes when she was interviewed by police on August 19.
She told police she found the debit card “in an unknown street” when she was walking home.
Mr Murray said he found the offences proved.
He adjourned the matter for sentencing on November 17 and warned an arrest warrant would be issued for Lowe if she again failed to appear in court.
