SLICK sprinter The Monstar finished third in the $150,000 MSS Security Sprint (1200m) at Flemington on Tuesday.

The Albury galloper charged home to clinch the minor placing behind Sea Lord and Gregors.
The $11 chance edged out Sarajevo in a photo finish.
Part-owner Graeme Edgar said it was a strong performance against a quality field.
“We were really happy with the run,” Edgar said.
“Daniel Stackhouse (jockey) thought we could have won if we drew a gate.
“We weren’t that far off the pace in the finish.
“It was pretty encouraging really.”
The Monstar’s trainer Brett Cavanough enjoyed a good day at Albury on Tuesday when Nudgerama and Desert Destiny saluted in races three and four.
He also finished second with Alice From Albury in race 4.
Robert Linnell, Russell Green and Sylvia Thompson also trained winners in the five-race meeting at Albury.
About 2000 people attended the day.
