After a 24-game stint with St Kilda Football Club, Andrew Jobling worked as a personal trainer and cafe owner.
In the little spare time he had, he wrote his first book and has since written six more.
It is hoped he will inspire writers on the Border and be the first of many motivational speakers to come through Shine at Business.
He will speak at Cafe Grove on November 14 from 12.30pm.
Tickets cost $50 with a drink on arrival.
