UPDATE Thursday, 2pm: The Bureau of Meterology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Albury-Wodonga and surrounds, with damaging winds, heavy rainfall and large hailstones expected.

The thunderstorms could cause flash flooding and large hailstones over the next several hours, affecting Bendigo, Maryborough, Ballarat, Shepparton, Seymour, Geelong, Melbourne, Wodonga and Wangaratta.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Secure any loose objects in the vicinity of your home.
* Keep away from creeks and drains.
* Do not drive vehicles through flooded areas.
* Stay indoors if possible.
* Avoid using the phone during the storm.
* Switch off your computer and electrical appliances
UPDATE: Thursday, 10.45am: Despite the constant rain overnight the SES report they have not had more distress calls as compared to an average night.
While there has been a heavy volume of rain, there have not been severe winds which can cause damage, SES spokesperson Marc Dorey said.
With thunderstorms expected, he advised residents to check over their property and make sure things were secure, such as outdoor furniture, and ensure any pets are kept safe.
